Important WSC Policies


 

Refund Policy:

Refunds are subject to 30% administration fee on the originally paid registration amount. It may take 2-3 weeks to process your refund. There will be no refunds after the first week of play. All refunds must be requested through email to admin: admin@wetaskiwinsoccer.com. We do not have an office.

**Registration fees include the following: insurance, CASA/CAYSL fees, field/facility fees, referee fees, and administrative fees.**


Privacy Policy:

  1. Parent/Guardian hereby give permission for images of my child(ren) and name(s) to be used solely for the purposes of promoting Wetaskiwin Soccer Club. I waive my right to any compensation and ownership.
  2. Parent/Guardian hereby understand and agree that the City of Wetaskiwin, CASA, Coaches, Volunteers, Directors and other members of Wetaskiwin Soccer Club shall not be held responsible for any liability, injury or accident during practices and games, traveling to and from practices and games.
  3. Parent/Guardian hereby grants permission to the Wetaskiwin Soccer Club to send informational emails to the email addresses provided upon registration. If the parent/guardian wishes to cease email contact with the Wetaskiwin Soccer Club, they may request this by email to: admin@wetaskiwinsoccer.com
  4. Any objections should be forwarded in writing to the Wetaskiwin Soccer Club by email to: registrar@wetaskiwinsoccer.org or by mail to PO BOX 6211 STN MAIN, WETASKIWIN, AB, T9A 3E9.

Equipment Policy:

Note: Beginning in Spring Season 2019, we will no longer require a uniform deposit cheque.

U3-U8 Required Equipment: 
Jersey, shorts, socks, & ball will be provided by Wetaskiwin Soccer Club at no extra charge for player to keep.
Players will be required to bring outdoor running shoes/cleats and shin guards. If players are not equipped, they may not be permitted to play. 

U9-U19 Required Equipment:
Training t-shirt and a ball for practice will be provided by the club at no extra charge. Game jersey and ball will be provided to player and are to be returned after each session. Players are encouraged to purchase their own soccer ball for home use (U9-U11 size 4, U13-U19 size 5).

Players will be required to wear shorts, outdoor running shoes/cleats and shin guards/socks. If players are not equipped, they may not be permitted to play.

Coaches & Team Managers are responsible to care for and return all team equipment at the end of the season (jerseys, balls, pylons, medical kits, flags, nets, etc.) Recommended washing instructions for jerseys to avoid damage: machine wash cold, hang to dry.


Volunteer Policy:

Our club is entirely run by volunteers, and we rely on our members & parents to assist with the following roles for each of our teams, from U3-U19. Thank you for your passion to create the best possible experience for the players this season! During Spring Season 2024, each family will be responsible to fulfill one volunteer activity as follows, or pay a $100 volunteer fee during registration process. Please Note: The volunteer fee is automatically added at registration and will be reimbursed upon fulfillment of a volunteer activity.

 

WSC Team Staff:

Head Coach - Work Closely with Coaching Coordinator & Technical Director to deliver training sessions to team. Note: Coaching Certification required for this position.

Assistant Coach(es) - Assist head coach with training sessions, keeping the players on task and having fun. 
 
Team Manager - Perform administrative duties for the team, includes setting up TeamSnap calendar, setting up communications for team, scheduling team activities/field set-up, organizing players on picture day, etc.
 

Equipment Manager (U9-U19) - Maintain all team equipment for duration of season, including training equipment (balls, pinnies, nets, etc.) and jerseys (ask for washing instructions). Players hand in their jerseys at the end of each game to the equipment manager, and the equipment manager ensures that they are clean and ready for the next game.

Tournament Manager - Each team shall require a tournament manager to assist with the planning and execution of the Spirit Cup Tournament.

 

WSC Tournament Volunteer Roles:

Set Up- Responsible to set up the fields for the tournament EACH DAY. Approximate times are: Thurs 4-5pm, Fri 4-5pm, Sat 6-7am, Sun 7-8am. This position includes manual labour such as setting up event tents, hauling heavy items, placing banners, benches, and corner flags at all fields.

Take Down- Responsible to take down the fields for the tournament EACH DAY. Approximate times are: Thurs 8-9pm, Fri 8-9pm, Sat 8-9pm, Sun 4-5pm. This position includes manual labour such as tearing down event tents, hauling heavy items, removing banners, benches, and corner flags from all fields.
 
Field Marshal - Field Marshals are the main role that we require during the tournament. Working in shifts, these volunteers will be assigned different roles as needed including: directing people to the correct fields, answering general questions, updating score sheets, selling concession items or 50/50 tickets, etc. Shifts are 4 hours long and duties will be assigned on arrival.

Tournament Prep Specialist- This will take place during the week before the tournament and may include activities like filling goodie bags, organizing binders / game sheets, etc. Tentatively, this is scheduled for Wednesday June 8 from 3-7pm.

Mobile Tournament Coordinator - This person will be available (with a vehicle) to pick up donations & equipment during the week prior to the tournament as needed. This will involve heavy lifting (tents, water bottles, etc)

Sponsorship Coordinator - Working closely with Operations Director Karen Bishop, this person will be responsible for sending out sponsorship information to local businesses from Feb-May and will arrange to pick up any donations provided.


RAFFLE Policy:

WSC will be hosting a few 50/50 raffles using the host “Rafflebox” from April to June, 2024.

To assist members with registration costs, we will be offering a registration discount this season for selling tickets. Note: This discount is ONLY available on the WSC Registration Raffle (draw date March 25, 2024. For every $100 of tickets sold in support of your player, you will be eligible for a $20 registration discount. When sharing the information, please instruct your friends & family to choose your player in the “In Support Of” dropdown field. (You will also receive an email from Rafflebox that includes the direct link to your player’s page for easy sharing.) This will ensure that funds are applied to your family for your registration discount. Registration discounts will be applied on your teamsnap after each month’s draw is made, and refunds will be issued during the first week of July (if applicable). Participation in this raffle is entirely optional, however we do appreciate your support!

Funds raised through this raffle will help with operational costs, including: equipment purchases, technical programming, coaching and referee certification courses, and more.
