Officiating is a great way to earn extra money while staying involved in the sport. Officials at every level are paid for working games, making it a flexible and rewarding part-time opportunity.
Refereeing keeps you active while having fun. Travel across Alberta—and even across Canada—to officiate tournaments. With flexible scheduling, you can work as much or as little as you like.
If you’ve officiated other sports, many of your skills transfer easily to soccer. There are plenty of development pathways, including opportunities to work at Provincial and National Championships.
Stay connected to the sport you love. Officiating helps you build friendships, contribute to the soccer community, and support the growth of the game. You’ll gain a deeper understanding and appreciation of soccer from a new perspective.
If you officiated during the 2024 or 2025 seasons, check your email for a registration link from Alberta Soccer. Follow the link to complete your recertification.
