Our AGM will be held on Friday February 24 at 6:30pm at the Manluk Centre Pool in the De Goeij Room (upstairs). This is your opportunity to give us feedback on the season! We want to know what you loved, what you didn't, which things worked well, and which ones could use some work. Do you have some great ideas on how to make next season even better? Great - we want to hear them! Our board of directors is composed of passionate parents just like you who want to give our kids the best possible soccer experience! 

We also have all board member positions open for nomination. Come join our awesome team!

President

  • Resides at all meetings of the WSC and has a casting vote only.
  • Ex-officio member of all committees within the Club
  • Prepare agenda for all regularly scheduled meetings
  • Attend all Central Alberta Soccer Association meetings, or find an executive committee member to attend in their absence

Vice President

  • senior officer of the Club next to the President
  • preside at all meetings of the Executive Committee
  • attend any meetings of the Central Alberta Soccer Association in the absence of the President

Registrar

  • Responsible for the advertisement of upcoming programs:
    • Registration Dates (outdoor/indoor season)
    • Parade of Programs (spring/fall)
    • Annual General Meeting
  • Distribute registration forms (schools, public posting boards, etc.) and supply to webmaster to update website
  • Input information from paper forms to online system
  • Report registration numbers to board by email biweekly during registration season
  • Work with Technical Director and Coach Coordinators to build teams

Secretary

  • responsible for the preparation and custody of the minutes of proceedings of all meetings of the Club
  • Send previous meeting minutes by email before all scheduled meetings
  • Complete and submit Annual Return to the Corporate Registry annually in October

Treasurer

  • Receive all monies to the credit of the club and issue receipts, make bank deposits
  • Issue funds from the club by jointly signed cheque
  • Maintain bank accounts and report back to board monthly
  • Prepare budget, annual report, and financial statement for the AGM

Referee Manager

  • shall be notified with all matters regarding referee involvement both at home and away.
  • responsible for all matters pertaining to referees, including but not limited to: 
    • Recruiting
    • training (with assistance of ASA) & mentoring
    • equipping 
    • scheduling

Operations Director

  • Responsible for overseeing the following appointed officers:
    • Technical Director
    • Equipment Coordinator
    • Coach Coordinator(s)
    • Tournament Coordinator(s)
    • Fundraising Coordinator

Technical Director

  • Responsible for creating technical programming for club players
  • Work with coach coordinator(s) to assist with coach training

Equipment Coordinator

  • Responsible for all properties owned by the Club
  • Creates an inventory for all uniforms, equipment, and property
  • Determines which equipment is unfit for use due to wear and tear
  • Informs board/treasurer of equipment requirements for upcoming seasons
  • Order Timbits equipment (balls, jerseys, medals, socks)

Coach Coordinator(s)

  • Work with Technical Director to schedule coaching clinics
  • Recruit new coaches, work with TD & Registrar to build teams
  • Communicate with coaches throughout the season
  • Provide mentorship & guidance to coaches during season
  • First point of contact for parent/coach concerns
  • When necessary, Club shall have two positions (U3-U9, U11-U19)

Tournament Coordinator(s)

  • Plan and organize tournament/year end activities for the club
  • Work with treasurer to present budget prior and financial summary after

Fundraising Coordinator

  • Plan and organize all fundraising activities for the Club, including but not limited to:
    • WSC Apparel Store
    • Spring Raffle
    • Tournament Raffle(s)
    • Direct Sales Fundraising opportunities
  • Discuss new ideas about fundraising for Club as an alternative to increasing fees


Webmaster

  • Update Club website and social media accounts with new information as necessary
  • Update Club events and manage email accounts

Director at Large

  • Attend board meetings and bring forward new ideas to help the Club grow and succeed
